Three questions

Three questions

Finished another coaching conversation with coach Dave. A conversation much like any conversation really.
Flowing this way, then that way. Slowing down, sometimes stopping altogether, only to pick up speed, and rush forth!
Like a meandering river, conversations ebb and flow. Much like life, honestly.

Is that what coaching can be?
Yeah. Why not! Whatever serves in the moment, that’s what coaching can be.

Today, what served me the most was a meandering conversation, that has me popping ideas like crazy, on blog posts, sales pitches, other conversations to have and on and on…

Now, to ensure I don’t go off the deep end, Dave brought me back to the importance of three very basic questions. Questions I hereby vow to stick with for the next month (because boy… is it ever easy to skip these and start to build a house without having gotten the foundation well in place first!).

I will sit with them. Reflect upon them. Dig into them.
Write. Speak. Share. Listen. Learn. And… act!

The latter aspect might be one of the more important ones, given where I am at, and what I want to accomplish. So I will dig deep and act upon my findings. I will try it out, because I cannot figure this one out on my own, in conversation only with myself (and coach Dave). I have to (and want to!) put this to the test, something not done in silence, not done alone in my chambers and not done theoretically.

Three questions.
One month.

(Or more? Who knows… Or less?
Nah. I will give it a month!)

You with me in exploring this?

2019. As I am.

As I am.

I asked my friend D to translate “gown off” into Swedish. “Gown off” popped up in my first conversation with my new coach. I described the general feeling of that conversation, and somehow D managed, as so often (always?), put words to that which goes unspoken.

So all of a sudden, “gown off” turned into “as I am”, which feels spot on. This is how I step into 2019, filled with energy and curiosity, with champagne bubbles coursing through my entire body, eager and ecstatic to experience all that is to come, “as I am”. Naked. Raw. Intimate. With power and pleasure.

2019. The year when I will…
* have my bodily wellbeing in focus by:

  • continuing with my daily Seven accompanied by burpees
  • Headspace daily
  • run a minimum of  75 runs
  • take cold (outdoors) baths as often as I can – and add to this by taking cold showers
  • dance Lindy hop as often as I can (taking a class during the spring, and then there’s the social dancing as well!)
  • continuing to ribe my bike and walk as much as possible

* have my mental and spiritual wellbeing in focus by:

  • reading at least 75 books, of which 12 in Swedish and 12 in English already have been chosen. These 12 + 12 I will be blogging about.
  • learn at least five songs by heart including lyrics on the guitar, which will be made possible by my aim at ten minutes of guitar playing on a daily basis
  • I will let the wonderful book The book of Awakening by Mark Nepo be my daily companion
  • hold digital 24-hour sabbats at least twice a month

* have creation in focus by:

  • booking at least four two-day writing retreats during the year
  • keeping up with daily Facebook Lives for as long as there’s energy in doing it
  • blog daily
  • start to pod

* have financial husbandry in focus by:

  • sowing, sowing and sowing a little bit more; on a weekly basis intentionally work on my various income streams
  • keep tabs on my set invoicing goal on a monthly basis
  • keep an accounts book on private income and expenses

And finally – on all levels – experiment and play, experience pleasure and exploring and challenging myself, all the while being gentle to myself!

2019. Here I come. As I am. Gown off!

Where are you headed?

April 14, 2016

Well, you see. I’m not. Not anymore. At least not the way I used to think about the direction I was headed in. You see, I used to have the feeling that where I was, wasn’t All That. But Over There, at the end of the rainbow, that’s where All That resided… and if only I could get there, then I would live happily ever after. Until, that is, I discovered it really wasn’t All That after all, spotted a new Over There, another rainbow to chase after, which I immediately set off in search of.

This was closely linked to my view of myself as a D-I-Y-project, a renovation object, in need of fixing. If only, I would know this, or be skilled at that, or looked a bit more like Z, then I would be a person worthy of respect, love, appreciation…
expand

So when asked, the other week, Where are you headed?, I actually said as much: I’m not. Not in the sense of being here, and wanting to go over there. I look at life, and myself, as being here, and expanding. In all directions. Not moving away from where I am, to another point in the universe. No. I expand. In all dimensions. Grow.

Centered in myself. Letting my roots grow, wide and deep. Not uprooting myself over and over again, moving towards the new site of All That. Getting there. Letting my roots grow… until I uprooted myself again. And again. And again.

Centered. Rooted. I don’t miss that feeling of dissatisfaction one iota, the dissatisfaction of not being good enough, always striving away, towards something else, towards completion, being fixed. If only…

Centered. Rooted. With a feeling of satisfaction, out of which I expand way beyond any Over There that I might have been striving towards or even imagined before. With my new way of being in the world, there’s an accompanying curiosity that makes for a journey of explorative discovery. Within the framework of that journey, I am travelling far and wide; farther and wider that I ever would have been able to before. Exploring the universe, within and without the boundaries of my physical being.

So. Let your imagination run wild. What if…
– you would stop chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow Over There?
– you would see that staying rooted and expanding from a center point, would open up something new in your life, something way beyond anything you’ve ever experienced before?

What then?

Welcome to my English website! Since 2012 I have blogged over at herothecoach.com in both Swedish and English and this post is a sample of what I’ve been writing over the years. I hope you enjoy this #ThrowbackThursday, originally published here, and if you do, please subscribe to updates so you won’t miss out on future posts.
